Self-portrait by Samuel Nyholm.
- It's difficult to describe Samuel Nyholm and his work. He has been doing projects within the fields of film, graphic design, music, performance and scenography. He started his career in the Swedish-Swiss «anti-design» collective REALA, which he left in 2007.
To me Samuel is the most uncomprimising illustrator I know, and probably the most philosophically oriented person I have ever met. Ha has the ability to seem dead serious and in full laughter at the same time. He engages in a research project aiming to show that schizophrenia is a natural condition.
Samuel is also a pedagogue, with teaching experience from Switzerland (ECAL 2007–2009). Since 2012 he has been a professor at HFK in Bremen. There he lets his students devote a whole term to drawing the same cup and inspires them by reading Nietzsche aloud.
