The Preliminary Drawing School
The Northern Drawing School is a network that can take shape and manifest itself anytime and almost anywhere. Generally, it happens near an art academy.
On Saturday, February 3, 2024, it took place in the form of the full-day seminar The Preliminary Drawing School (9:30-17:00) at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
Around thirty teachers and students, former students and other interested parties gathered to draw and think and talk about drawing. Many stayed after this to celebrate with a joint dinner.
We started by drawing our drawing hands with the other hand and ended by drawing today's news in newsrooms, such as domestic news, foreign news, debate, lifestyle, etc.
In between we listened to short talks, drew to throat singing and rattles and had a session with "action croquis". We answered a questionnaire, like in Lund.
Coffee, tea, fruit and sweets were served throughout the day. Soup, bread and hummus for lunch. Daal, rice and salad for dinner.
