Happy Families

During a two-week workshop fifteen students produced a new take on the traditional card game Happy families. The aim was to highlight the constant presence of prejudices in illustration and discuss the communication of values.

  • The students made up one family each. Traditionally the families are defined by an occupation, but the families presented below are defined by heritage or interest, by addiction or religion. Each family has four members - "Mr.", "Mrs.", "Young Mr." and "Miss" (note the quotes). The project was lead by professor Andreas Berg. The cards were screen printet by a group of students supervised by Jan Skomakerstuen.
