Collective Super Pixel Font
As part of this semester's Type Design course each student was asked to design and develop a pixel font. These have been collected to form a monster of a type family: 10 individual fonts, each equipped with 20 pixel variations accessible via OpenType Stylistic Sets 01 to 20 make for approximately 17,000 glyphs to be freely combined and layered.
In addition, two Drawbot scripts have been developed which randomly combine, colour and layer variants of the type family. The results are exports as GIF/MP4 animations (Drawbot_Animator.py) or PDFs (Drawbot_Combinator.py). To run the scripts download Drawbot here (sorry, Mac only!).
The fonts and the Drawbot scripts are offered for download free of charge under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0) lisens.
